WelcomeWelcome to Mr. Wemp's pre-engineering page for the Nampa School District.
Mastery LearningStudents will be expected to demonstrate Mastery or Proficiency on learning objectives by using different methods that they will choose. Students have a variety of ways of expressing their knowledge to the instructor. When a student has to learn how to show what they know, true learning can occur. Your students may be challenged to break the mold of what is typically asked for in class.
In an effort to assess what students actually know, rather than measure how many points they have earned, I will be grading your student using Anchor Standards and Skills Measures to determine a student’s grade. Students will be assessed on their knowledge throughout the unit that they are working in and their score for how well they have met the standards will be the semester grade. The grading scale for their report card will look like this:
A brief explanation of what you will see in the grade book is linked below: Most assignments will use a grading system similar the the rubric linked below, however, scoring a 5/5 will be easier than scoring a 10/10 for a standard.

SchoologyAll classes currently use Schoology to communicate assignments, submit work, and review lessons. Please have your son/daughter log in and create an account. Course codes will be provided in class so the students can sign in to a class. I would be happy to email a parent code to verified parents/guardians. From there, you will be able to set alerts for assignments and quizzes, see what your child is communicating to the class, and communicate with me.
STUDENTS! To sign up for Schoology, use the following access codes. A Day 1A IED - 2A POE - 4A IED - B Day 1B DE - 3B POE - 4B IED - 3D Modeling for Design (POE Concurrent Credit) Access Code - Extra HelpIf you find that you need extra help with an assignment, I am available most days after school. Please let me know if you plan on coming in so I can make the appropriate arrangements. You may also find many answers in the resources section of my site.
